Dr. Karlos A. Nichols is an educator, executive leader, minister, and nationally respected strategist whose work sits at the intersection of public leadership, faith, policy, philanthropy, and community innovation. With more than two decades of experience spanning the nonprofit, government, education, and faith sectors, he is recognized for building strategic partnerships, cultivating transformational leaders, and helping organizations create sustainable impact. A Memphis native, Nichols is widely recognized for his ability to build transformative programs that empower young people, shape culture, and drive systemic equity.

Dr. Nichols the founder and principal strategist of EXodUS Strategies, a consulting firm that partners with nonprofit organizations, government entities, arts organizations, educational institutions, and faith communities to strengthen leadership, expand organizational capacity, and develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.

Previously, Dr. Nichols served as Chief of Staff and Managing Director of the African American Mayors Association, working alongside more than 500 Black mayors and national corporate partners to advance public policy, economic development, and civic engagement. His professional experience also includes leadership roles with the Children's Defense Fund and numerous faith-based organizations, where he has focused on leadership development, organizational strategy, youth engagement, and community transformation. As a consultant, he has advised organizations on multimillion-dollar capital campaigns, building projects, strategic planning initiatives, and community development projects that have produced lasting institutional and neighborhood impact.

An accomplished educator, Dr. Nichols began his career in Memphis-Shelby County Schools, where he launched Tennessee's largest public elementary musical theatre and dance program, serving more than 600 students each week through arts education. His work has consistently reflected a commitment to developing creative leaders, strengthening institutions, and expanding opportunities for underserved communities.

Dr. Nichols holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre and Urban Studies from The New School, a Master of Science in Education from Walden University, a Master of Arts in Homiletics and Worship from Union Theological Seminary at Columbia University, and a Doctor of Education from Delaware State University. He is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Louisiana State University.
